Despite the many unanswered questions about Paul (that make him an enigmatic figure), he is the fulfillment of a historian of antiquity’s dream. This is because so many good sources are available (Paul’s own letters), because a useful contemporary secondary source is also available (the Acts of the Apostles), and because the manuscript sources for both are quite early.
